Parent company headquartered in Basel

As a parent company headquartered in Basel, Gruner Ltd forms the umbrella organization for the entities in Switzerland and abroad. Founded in 1862, the company was transformed into a stock corporation in 1970. At the end of 2021, Gruner Lüem AG (founded in 1957) and Gruner Gruneko AG (founded in 1974) were merged into Gruner AG. 

Gruner AG is independent and is owned by the founding families as well as the management and employees. The Board of Directors of Gruner Ltd is the supreme governing body of the group. It has appointed the Executive Committee as the group's supreme operational management body.

The parent company is responsible for the corporate functions Human Resources, Finance, IT, Communication and Legal for the entire company. Gruner Ltd also combines operational units that are active in various competencies and regions.
