Volkshaus Basel events venue and restaurant

After all preparations for the refurbishment of the 1925-built Volkshaus Basel – based on the designs of Herzog & de Meuron – had been completed, the bar and brasserie closed for a brief period during which the interior works were carried out. Then, with the office and catering facilities back in operation, the staff room was installed, and the foyer and upper-floor events rooms refreshed. Strict compliance with the cost budget and high architectural design requirements were the greatest challenges posed by this refurbishment project.
