The St. Gallen site is an important center for outstanding engineering services and planning expertise in the lively region of Eastern Switzerland. As the largest site in the region today, St. Gallen is the heart of Gruner's presence in Eastern Switzerland, and maintains close links with neighboring sites in Appenzell, Berneck, Degersheim, Flawil, Roggwil, Teufen and Wil.

Since 1971, when Robert Wepf founded the first engineering office, and the arrival of Dieter Wepf in 1989, the company has made its mark on the region with services in infrastructure construction, building services, urban hydraulic engineering and conventional hydraulic engineering. The former Wepf Ingenieure group of companies was transferred to the Gruner Group in 2008. Since then, the joint development of the company has been steadily pursued, and core competencies expanded and deepened.
