Construction of Europe's longest dam nears completion

The Muttsee dam in the Glarus Alps will retain the upper reservoir of the new 1,000-MW "Linthal 2015" pumped-storage hydropower plant. Built from 68 concrete blocks, the 1,050 m gravity wall will be one of the longest in Europe. Acting as part of an engineering consortium, Stucky Ltd was appointed to design this exceptional structure and supervise the on-site works.
