Activities & Responsibilities

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydraulics Engineer to join our team in the field of hydraulics and dam engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, calculating, and dimensioning concrete structures, with a particular focus on hydraulic and dam projects. You will play a key role in supporting project design, ensuring the quality and accuracy of plans, and actively contributing to the preparation and submission of tenders. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to monitor construction sites, liaise with clients, and travel for short- and long-term assignments both in Switzerland and internationally.

  • Perform calculations and assist in the design and dimensioning of concrete structures, particularly in the hydraulic and dam sectors, ensuring they meet technical standards and project specifications.
  • Lead and manage projects with the objectives to ensure timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to relevant technical standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.
  • Lead and/or participation in the preparation of tender documentation and submission proposal for engineering services related to hydraulic and dam projects (local and international markets).
  • Travel for site visits, project meetings, and potential longer-term international assignments as required.

Requirements profile

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on hydraulics or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of hydraulics and dams, with a strong understanding of relevant design principles.
  • Familiarity with technical standards, software tools (HEC-RAS, FLOW3D…), and methodologies used for designing and dimensioning hydraulic and dam structures.
  • Proven ability to anticipate, plan, organize, and control engineering projects effectively.
  • Willingness to travel for short-term assignments, site visits, or project meetings, with the possibility of extended international missions as necessary.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French, German, or Italian will be also required (depending on location of position).
