Inauguration Roche building 2

Construction work on Roche Building 2 has been finalised and completed in recent weeks and months. On 2 September 2022, the 205-metre-high building, which offers around 3,200 employees a modern workplace with a spectacular view on 50 floors, was officially inaugurated in the presence of President of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis.

The new tower is also expected to be extremely attractive in terms of energy consumption and set new standards. According to Roche, it is one of the most sustainable and energy-efficient buildings in the world. The tower will be heated with waste heat and cooled with groundwater, which will significantly reduce CO2 consumption compared to other office buildings.

The two Roche Towers are also the two tallest buildings in Switzerland and have shaped and changed Basel's cityscape in recent years. They have become a landmark that has become known beyond the national borders.

Gruner is proud to be part of the planning team and to have contributed to the successful construction. We warmly congratulate on the opening!
