Tourism resort

A tourist resort was to be built in Andermatt on a large, mainly undeveloped site. The investor behind the project is Samih Sawiris. The site development proposals were drawn up through an international architectural competition. The winning designs were formally adopted through six neighbourhood development plans and a spatial planning assessment of competing interests. The latter relates primarily to the issues of the town’s character and landscape conservation. Gruner also contributed to the planning permission process.
