Position overview:

The Structural Engineer in the hydroelectric and dam sector will be responsible for the design, dimensioning, and integration of mechanical and electrical equipment requirements into civil structures, particularly in the hydropower sector and with specific reference to powerhouses. The role includes participation in design, tender preparation, project management, and site monitoring. The position requires involvement in our projects in the Philippines, and it will be performed from our office in Manila, with site visits. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a strong understanding of reinforced concrete structures for hydropower projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate / review the design and dimensioning of structural engineering works related to hydro powerhouses and appurtenant structures (intakes, outlets, spillways, etc.).
  • Monitor and oversee project, execution plans and methodologies to ensure adherence to specifications, timelines and international standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender and submission dossiers for engineering services related to hydroelectric engineering.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (M.Eng. or MSc.).
  • At least 10 years of proven experience in structural engineering, with a strong portfolio of successful local and international projects, with specific reference to powerhouses and appurtenant structures.
  • Extensive experience in the conception, design, and construction follow-up of reinforced concrete structures for hydropower projects
  • Experience in the coordination of the design of civil works with hydro-electromechanical equipment for hydropower projects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to ensure close communication with mechanical and electrical specialists.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.
