Juri Schuler Joins Gruner’s Executive Committee

As of January of this year, Juri Schuler is leading the Infrastructure Business Area. With this appointment, he becomes a member of the Executive Committee, succeeding Reto Hagger, who is taking early retirement.

Over the past two decades, Juri Schuler has held numerous positions at Gruner—starting as an intern, advancing to leadership roles, and most recently serving as Head of the Business Unit Infrastructure Central Switzerland. In this role, he successfully developed the unit and established the Lucerne office three years ago. “With his extensive experience and career at Gruner, Juri Schuler is exceptionally well-prepared for this new challenge,” emphasized CEO Olivier Aebi.

René Bieri will succeed him as Head of the Business Unit Infrastructure Central Switzerland. René has been with the company for 13 years and most recently led the Civil Engineering/Road Construction Department. “René Bieri brings deep expertise and years of experience to continue the successful development of the Business Unit,” said Juri Schuler. The leadership of the Civil Engineering/Road Construction Department will pass to Raphael Winet, an experienced project and construction manager at Gruner.

These changes are taking place as a result of Reto Hagger’s early retirement. He will leave the company at the end of February 2025 after a long and successful career at Gruner. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Reto for his significant contributions to Gruner’s development and wish him all the best for this new phase of his life,” said Olivier Aebi.
