Office building Zurich

Total refurbishment and extension

KPMG's future headquarters, which will consist of the two buildings at Badenerstrasse 170 and 172 and will be owned by Swiss Life, will be completely renovated. The office space is spread over six floors and three basement levels, which are accessible via several central staircases and lift cores.

Both buildings, including the facades and building services, will be demolished down to the shell. Only the access cores (stairs and elevators) and certain doors in the basement floors, the shelter and the transformer station of EWZ in building 172 will remain.

Heating and cooling will be provided by existing gas boilers and refrigeration machines. A photovoltaic system will also be installed on the roof. The individual offices and open-plan offices are equipped with heating/cooling ceiling panels.

The total refurbishment also includes the new design of the surroundings within the plots as well as work on the earthquake-proofing of the existing buildings. The building will continue to be used as an office building after the renovation.
