Site development: A comprehensive approach to building construction and mobility

Which should be designed first – the site or the transport links to it? There is only one correct answer: both at the same time. Why mobility and transport engineering are crucial for site development

If, on the other hand, transport engineering is only incorporated at a late stage, projects that are already at an advanced stage may run into difficulties: for example, due to congested junctions, a lack of cycle routes or conflicts over the use of public space. 

Retrospective adjustments are not only costly; they can also limit the possibilities for further site development and the quality of the environment.

Transport engineering is therefore far more than simply determining the dimensions of roads, access routes or car parks. It lays an important foundation for ensuring that a site functions effectively in the long term.
