Innovative Urban Infrastructure: The 150 kV Line Project at Gartenstrasse, Allschwil

Primeo AG intended to rebuild the 150 kV line between Allschwil and Oberwil. In 2021, we were therefore commissioned with the construction management for the section in the Gartenstrasse area. However, this section includes tracks belonging to the Basel transport company. This fact and the busy main road made conventional trench construction impossible. We therefore decided in favour of two other methods: We undercrossed the Baslerstrasse with the railway tracks with a down-the-hole borehole. We undercut the trench ring (important road towards the French border) using the HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) method. In this procedure, the start and target pits are excavated first so that they can be connected in a second step using the two drilling methods and empty conduits can be inserted.
