Gruner increases revenue and renews its Board of Directors
Gruner continued to grow in 2025, even in a challenging environment. Revenue rose to CHF 174 million. At the same time, Gruner is welcoming a new member to its Board of Directors: Nicole Brodbeck was elected to the Board at the Annual General Meeting on 28 April 2026.
Despite geopolitical uncertainties and a volatile construction market Gruner performed robustly. “In a challenging marketplace, Gruner has continued to prove its resilience and has systematically expanded its position,” says Thomas Ernst, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “This stability provides us with the necessary foundation to consistently continue on our chosen growth path.” In the 2025 financial year, Gruner increased revenue to CHF 174 million.
Growth driven by infrastructure and energy
The drivers of this development were a consistently high level of new business, progress in project and quality management, and disciplined cost control. Growth came in particular from the infrastructure and energy sectors, which are benefiting from investments in networks and renewable energies.
New to the Board of Directors: Nicole Brodbeck
With the appointment of Nicole Brodbeck, Gruner is strengthening its Board of Directors with additional industrial expertise. The CEO of Ancotech AG has many years of experience in the construction supply industry and in leading growth-oriented companies. She replaces Dr Renzo Simoni, who is stepping down from the Board of Directors after nine years at Gruner. We wish Nicole Brodbeck every success in her new role and thank Renzo Simoni for his valuable contributions to Gruner’s successful development.
Accelerated internationalisation – new offices in Rome and Manila
At the same time, Gruner is driving forward its growth strategy and internationalisation. New offices in Manila and Rome improve access to markets and strengthen the internal management of major projects. “We are consistently developing into an internationally positioned company with strong Swiss roots, thereby laying the foundations for sustainable growth,” says Olivier Aebi, CEO of Gruner.
The “Gruner 2030” strategy remains at the heart of our approach. Alongside geographical expansion, Gruner is investing in digitalisation, standardisation and the further development of the company. Around two-thirds of management positions are already filled internally – a clear signal of the significant importance of talent management.
"We expect moderate growth for the current year”
The number of employees rose to 1,249 in 2025. At the same time, the labour market for experienced specialists remains tight. “We expect moderate growth for the current year,” says Olivier Aebi. Whilst building construction and infrastructure will remain stable at a high level, energy remains the key growth driver – not least due to rising electricity demand and the decarbonisation of energy production.
