Architecture Award Golden Bunny («Goldener Hase») : Recognition for the New Zurich Children’s Hospital

The Zurich Children’s Hospital has been honoured by Hochparterre with the Golden Bunny («Goldener Hase») architecture award – one of the most prestigious distinctions for architecture in Switzerland. It also takes home the Public Award in the Architecture category. Our warmest congratulations! Gruner was involved in the planning and implementation of the project for more than ten years.

The hospital is the largest healthcare provider for children and adolescents in Switzerland and includes both an acute-care hospital as well as a building dedicated to research and teaching.

In collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron, a building complex was created that places the needs of children, families and healthcare professionals at its centre, offering both high-quality spaces and efficient workflows. The project was recognised for its architectural design, which stands out through its clear formal language, intuitive orientation and child-friendly atmosphere.

This achievement was also made possible thanks to the interdisciplinary collaboration of the Gruner teams from Fire Protection, Building Services Engineering, General Planning, Environment and Building Physics, who supported the project over many years.
