Gruner grows while reducing CO₂ emissions

The 2024 Sustainability Report shows: Gruner is taking responsibility in the construction industry, growing economically while at the same time reducing its environmental impact.

In 2024, revenue rose to 162.2 million Swiss francs, and the number of employees to 1,184. At the same time, CO₂ emissions fell by 10 percent – and by almost 40 percent since 2018. Electricity consumption was also reduced by 8.2 percent. These figures underline: climate protection and economic growth can go hand in hand.

Renewable energy and climate-friendly mobility: 68 tons of CO saved
Progress is the result of consistent measures. Electricity consumption has been reduced, and today 78 percent of heating already comes from renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and district heating. Mobility also plays a key role: train travel, car sharing, and electromobility led to savings of around 68 tons of CO₂ in 2024.

Promoting equal opportunities
The 2024 Sustainability Report makes clear: climate protection is only part of Gruner’s commitment. The visibility and equality of opportunities for women are being strengthened with Gruner’s “Grunerinnen” women's network. In terms of continued education, employees dedicated on average 69 hours to further training, and 100 apprentices and interns received a training position in 2024.

Integrity in focus: Whistleblower platform Integrity Line
Progress has also been made in governance: as of January 1, 2025, a revised Code of Conduct has applied, and since December 2023, the whistleblower platform Integrity Line has been available. This has  strengthened transparency, integrity, and responsibility within the company.

More key figures, interesting facts, and background information are available now in the 2024 Sustainability Report.
