In 1920, Heinrich Eduard Gruner and his then colleague Alfred Stucky were among the pioneers in European hydropower. Eduard is the son of company founder Heinrich Gruner and Alfred Stucky is the founder of the Stucky company, which Gruner took over in 2013. For a hundred years, Gruner has thus been one of the leading consulting and planning companies worldwide when it comes to the construction, rehabilitation and upgrading of hydropower plants and dams. In the meantime, Gruner plans not only hydropower plants but also geothermal, photovoltaic, biomass, power-to-gas plants or heat networks including heating centers. In addition, Gruner is active in energy transmission, be it high-voltage transmission lines and high-voltage switchgear or smart grids.
