Activities & Responsibilities

Expertise in Alternators, Excitation Systems, and Electrical Auxiliaries for Hydropower Plants Recognized expertise in alternators, excitation systems, and electrical auxiliaries of hydropower plants. Proven experience in the construction and rehabilitation of hydropower plants, both in Switzerland and abroad. Specific knowledge of variable-speed pumped-storage electromechanical equipment is an asset.

Main responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Reviewing design studies and manufacturer details (drawings, calculations, operation and maintenance documents).
  • Participating in factory acceptance tests and validating equipment compliance before shipment.
  • Conducting site visits and preparing reports with recommendations.
  • Coordinating with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Drafting technical methodology and documentation (specifications, contracts).
  • Evaluating technical and commercial proposals from manufacturers (quality, costs, deadlines).
  • Performing periodic on-site inspections throughout project phases.
  • Organizing project meetings and writing minutes.
  • Reviewing project schedules, monitoring progress, and suggesting optimizations.
  • Managing technical non-conformities and claims.

Requirements profile

  • Master’s degree (HES or EPF) in Electromechanical Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience with alternators and electromechanical equipment for power plants.
  • Proficiency in English and either French or German, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of rigor and foresight.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, tailored to both experts and non-specialists.
  • Ability to work and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to travel abroad (Africa, Central Asia, etc.) for short-term assignments.
