Central Railway Lucerne underground

In order to expand and improve the public transport offer in the Lucerne agglomeration, the project "Double-track expansion and undergrounding of the Zentralbahn" was realized in the period 2006-2012. The tracks of the Zentralbahn between Lucerne station and the Kriens-Mattenhof stop were laid in two new double-track tunnels over a total length of approx. 1,400 meters. Approximately in the middle of the two new tunnels "Hubelmatt" and "Allmend", the new underground stop "Allmend" was built, which serves, among others, the Lucerne Exhibition Center and the sports facilities on the Lucerne Allmend.

Services

Preparation of the tunnel safety concept as well as the smoke extraction concept for the Allmend station, preparation of a concept to verify the effectiveness of the ventilation and smoke extraction systems by means of flow and fire tests as well as 3D CFD simulations, execution of 3D CFD simulations for computational verification (achievement of the protection targets by the smoke extraction system), safety and smoke extraction engineering support for the project.
