Fish migration

Within the framework of the sanitation of the fish migration of the Verbois dam (canton of Geneva), the Gruner company Stucky has analyzed the hydraulic functioning of the existing technical pass on the left bank and proposed measures to improve its attractiveness and functionality. The analysis of the current functionality of the fish pass was based on in situ measurements and a 2D simulation of the basins. The need for a right bank fish passage is currently being studied. In this framework, a 2D modeling of the Rhone River is carried out downstream of the dam in order to determine the spatial distribution of flow velocities for various hydrological and operational scenarios, and thus to estimate the preferential fish passage downstream of the dam.
