Highway junction, Brüttisellen

Infrastructure

At the Brüttisellen freeway junction, four reinforced concrete composite bridges (183 m and 85 m) were raised and repaired between 2012 and 2014. Large differential settlements caused strong stresses in the superstructure. The bridges therefore had to be raised by up to 15 cm, which resulted in extensive route work. In the course of the repair work, the steel structure, among other things, was specifically reinforced and modified in order to guarantee the structural safety according to the applicable standards.

In 2014, the project was completed with the repair of the corrosion protection. The project planning and construction management was carried out by the GWBP engineering consortium, in which Gruner had the lead management. Throughout the entire construction period, traffic was directed in two lanes in both directions - a challenge with a daily traffic volume of around 130,000 vehicles.
