Modernization of the Fribourg railway station

Stucky Ltd and Gruner Ltd. are acting as main civil engineering contractors for the complete modernization of the Fribourg railway station.

The works consist in particular in :

  • The realization of a new underpass of 10 meters width for almost 100 meters length;
  • Bringing the station into compliance with the LHand standard (platforms, existing underpass, etc.);
  • The realization of a new architectural marquee;
  • The complete renewal of the railway infrastructure.

The start of the works (since the end of March 2021) is particularly intensive, with during the first 3 months :

  • The realization of 4 weekends of intensive works with in particular the drilling of 32 micropiles;
  • The installation of 4 temporary bridges of 19.2 meters span;
  • The installation of 2 temporary footbridges of 20 meters span on platforms 2 and 3;
  • The drilling of approximately 150 piles for the future Berlin wall;
  • The beginning of the excavation of the future underpass.
