Novartis Pavillon, Basel

At the end of April 2022, the Novartis Pavilion designed by AMDL CIRCLE Michele De Lucchi was opened at the southern end of the Novartis Campus. The new exhibition, meeting and event center is the first publicly accessible building on the site. The Novartis Pavilion is designed to foster a dialogue about life sciences and become a place that represents the past, present and future of healthcare. It houses the "Wonders of Medicine", a permanent multimedia exhibition designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER, whose contents were created in close collaboration with Novartis scientists.

The circular floor plan of the building is laid out on two levels - ground and upper floor - which can be used for different functions. The open space on the first floor is designed to welcome visitors and provide flexible spaces for learning, meetings and events. On the mezzanine level, a multimedia theater with stair seating connects the ground floor with the upper floor and guides visitors to the themes of the "Wonders of Medicine" exhibition. The exhibition space was designed as a flowing gallery that allows visitors to experience the exhibition in a round trip.
