Earthquake strengthening and static rebuilding measures
The owner family of an approximately 100 year old double family house with masonry and wooden beam ceiling planned its core renovation.
During planning and execution, the architect and the owner attached great importance to the design and careful handling of the old building fabric. The core renovation included the building services, the kitchen and the bathrooms.
The earthquake safety of the building was mathematically verified and improved by conceptual measures on the wooden beam ceilings.
