Universitätsspital Zürich, Umbau Bettenstationen NORD2 E+F

In connection with the provision of the construction site for the new building project Mitte 1|2, the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) is implementing the relocation of nursing beds to the NORD and KERN areas of the University Hospital Zurich. The NORD2 EF project included the construction of 4 future-oriented wards with 140 new beds as well as treatment rooms for the clinics MKG (oral and maxillofacial surgery), ORL (ear, nose, throat and facial surgery) and the eye clinic on a floor area of approximately 5000 m2. The reconstruction was designed for operationally and functionally optimal processes (interprofessional two-bed rooms / based on the platform concept of the USZ). The conversion ensures marketability, patient comfort and improved medical care.

The project is located in an inner-city area with tight space conditions in close proximity to the sensitive hospital operations of the University Hospital Zurich.

The operation of the North2 ward on floors E and F was maintained during the entire construction period (deconstruction to shell until commissioning) with appropriate protective measures in partial operation.

Gruner Brandschutz has been involved in the SIA phases 21-53 up to the present time.
