Clubrestaurant House of Wine

The operator of several gastronomy businesses in the Basel area commissioned Gruner AG to build a new building for wine storage. The storage facilities comprise 450 m2 of cooled space, which is constantly tempered to 14°C and conditioned to approx. 70% relative humidity. The operational concept is to operate the building as a club, to which every club member has 24 hour access. Furthermore, members are offered various services such as ordering wine at special rates. In addition to the professional storage of wine under optimal conditions and the possibility to consume the wine in the normal temperature range, the building also serves as a venue for tastings and lectures on the subject of wine. The new building can also be rented for private and corporate events with or without catering.

The new building includes a storage building for wine storage including rooms for tastings and lectures. The cavern arches of the modern wine storage facilities, as well as columns and beams in the event area, were constructed in high-quality fair-faced concrete.
