Cultural meeting place, Volkshaus, Basel

During the reconstruction of the old people's house from 1925 according to plans by Herzog & de Meuron, the interior fittings of the bar and brasserie were realized in a very short construction phase after completion of the preparatory work. These two premises were then reopened. Subsequently, the staff room was installed while the restaurant and office operations continued and the foyer and the halls on the upper floor were refreshed. In addition to the focal points described above, strict adherence to the cost budget and the high architectural design requirements were the main focus. Thanks to various experiences with complex construction projects, Gruner AG was able to successfully complete this project as well.
